We are collaborating across the cycling industry to reduce insurance fraud. By working as a collective, we protect our customers who play by the rules, and notify CIAFA members and other fraud industry bodies about customers who don’t.
About us
CIAFA is the UK’s leading anti-fraud association for cycling insurers. We are a non-profit association dedicated to cycling insurance. Every CIAFA members provides bicycle insurance in the UK.
Founded in 2020, CIAFA recognises the detrimental impact that fraud has on our industry. Every member has a commitment to prevent, register, and detect fraud then inform members and other industry fraud bodies.
We are all members of the MIB and subscribe to the CUE database. Every claim is uploaded and cross-checked against the existing database, with fully maintained records. In the event of suspected or confirmed fraud, CIAFA members also share information to prevent the same or similar fraud from repearing
Our ultimate goal is that every insurer invovled in cycling collaborates for the benefit of our customers. In reducing fraud, premiums reduce and the customer experience improves.
Premiums shouldn’t be affected by criminals. That’s why we’re here.
WHAT DO WE DO?
Prevent
CIAFA members take proactive steps to stop fraudsters from buying insurance, preventing fraud at the source
Detect
CIAFA members are viligant at the point of claim, ensuring all fraud markers are checked and details referenced against fraudsters
Register
All members of CIAFA upload and maintain their claim records against the CUE database (Claims Underwriting Exchange)
Inform
CIAFA will work with the relevant industry, trade and police authorities to ensure fraud is registered, and further action is taken
